Meet Bill Seaver - Social Media Consultant

MicroExplosion Media is a social media marketing consulting firm. MicroExplosion.com is a blog. Bill Seaver is behind both of them. Since he believes the best promotion strategy is valuable content, the company website is a blog. Reason is, blogs change regularly and give people a reason to return or subscribe to the content provided. Traditional websites usually don't, so when it came time to launch the company website, Bill reformatted his old blog into what you see today.

You will be able to find most of the information you need about the company on this page. If you still have questions just contact Bill.

The Company

MicroExplosion Media LogoThe world of marketing/advertising/public relations (and pretty much any other word you use for promotion) is changing rapidly. As an executive at two marketing firms Bill saw how new media could supplement traditional marketing. There was a problem though. Traditional marketing had some inherent limitations. The biggest limitation was the cost of the marketing to the client. It's just plain expensive to do traditional marketing really well. In many cases new media marketing is a valuable and effective alternative to traditional marketing at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.

That's what MicroExplosion Media seeks to do. Supplement, train, strategize, advise, and just all around consult with the intent that new media marketing is a great alternative (in many cases a better alternative) to traditional marketing. Heck, we'll even synergize (but that sounds so 1998 we won't tell anyone about it if we do.)

The Blog

The MicroExplosion Media blog has one purpose: to provide content you will find valuable. Most of the posts here are about new media/web 2.0/social media (yes, it's a little confusing) and how it applies to marketing. If that's something you're interested in please stick around and maybe add a comment every once in a while. Hopefully you like what you find. Maybe you'll even learn something. Maybe you can teach something. You don't even have to agree, but if you want to discuss it here keep it above the belt or we'll hire a ninja to come after you.

The Consultant and Blogger

bill-headshot-small.jpgBill Seaver founded MicroExplosion Media in the Fall of 2007 but had been writing a blog called MicroExplosion since June, 2006. When he launched the company it only seemed fitting to launch with the name of the blog (and add the word "media" to make it sound more business like.)

Bill has consulted numerous organizations to help them understand and apply social media into their marketing initiatives. He's led seminars, corporate training sessions, and numerous social media campaigns. Such campaigns include blog strategy and development, Google AdWords, podcasts, online video strategy, widget development, social media marketing campaigns, blogger networks, and social networking campaigns.

If you don't like reading and want to listen to Bill, check out a podcast called The New Mediology. He and a web developer named Nathan talk about a lot of social media stuff there too.
